My mom’s computer is having a malware problem. The virus keeps telling her that her computer is infected and won’t let her open any programs or get to the internet so she can get anti-malware software. How do I destroy this virus if I can’t get to anything?
I had this same problem at work, but our Help Desk took care of it. Now I need to know how to take care of it at home.

I went to a callout and attempted to fix the machine on site. In the end I had to remove the harddrive and bring it home with me to remove the infections. I hadnt quite realised how bad it was! 124013 virus infection!

Do not be fooled! Virusburst installs without user notification or consent. Virusburst issues annoying pop ups claiming that the computer is infected with dangerous spyware and offering to download and install its alleged spyware remover. In addition, Virusburst hijacks the home page, redirects the web browser to Virusburst’s website, jeopardizes your privacy and security online by installing trojans and other malware. Virusburst is a security risk and should not be trusted as a legitimate spyware remover! Get the removal tool at: www.enigmasoftware.com

Just curious. Can malware get into computer without installation?

People are telling me that simply through surfing or sharing thumbdrive and get my computer infected with malware or virus. I don’t believe because I thought malware or virus must be installed before it can run in your computer. This means as long as I am careful with what I install, I should be safe. Am I wrong?
