Yesterday i downloaded a file,Once I opened it my Avast! antivirus detected it and sent it to the vault, but somehow the virus managed to deactivate my windows vista firewall and disable my security center. Now everytime I try to turn on my firewall or security center I get an error that says "The Security Center service can’t be started."
I ran a scan with avast! and it detect 2 infected files which it sent to the vault but that doesn’t seem to make a different,I tryed spyboy search and destroy which detected my security center was turned off so it fixes it but after a couple of minutes the security center goes back to disabled and wont allow me to enable it.
Finally I thought about doing a System Restore, but when I open it I get an error saying I have to close System Restore.
Most applications like Spyware Doctor don’t support 64bit Vista nor do most firewalls since I currently can’t use Windows built in one. What can I do?
Please note: I enabled YouTube’s “Machine Transcription” feature on this video, which tries to detect speech in the video and place matching subtitles with it. It is currently in Beta stage, and it has picked up a lot of my speech very incorrectly. It’s hilarious! EMBEDDED! Whoever you are, thanks for embedding this video of mine at www.indexofeverything.com ! ad.yieldmanager.com is targeting users and hosting advertisements infected with malware. I noticed, since last week, that ad.yieldmanager.com started to send my computer malware. At first, it wasn’t much malware and the first time, I only got one infection sent to my computer initially. However, as time progressed, the malware started being sent more frequently, from two a day to three a day. Back then, I wasn’t paying much attention to where the threats originated from. As time passed though, I began to notice that the malware was coming from the same place: ad.yieldmanager.com. www.newgrounds.com is the website which allows ad.yieldmanager.com to show infected advertisement banners. I strongly advise you to ensure that when visiting websites including advertisements that the computer is using a good anti-malware program which is up to date and being regularly updated automatically. ad.yieldmanager.com also sends malware to computers even when not having any web browsers running. I personally recommend avast! by ALWIL Software as the security software to help keep your computers protected from these threats …

I have Norton Internet Security 2010 which I was overly satisfied with on my old PC but now that I switched it to my new gaming PC, it makes me lag in games and cause a very high latency.
I am thinking either:
-Eset total security 4
-Avast free
-AVG free
I am willing to pay but I want something that will protect me, as well as not interfere with my video games. So any suggestions?
This is a very nasty virus that is running rampant on the internet as of January 2010. In many cases people have lost their entire computer to it so it’s a really bad one. Be sure to go to the link below and read the instructions very carefully. Also be sure to follow the instructions exactly as they are stated. That will help you fix this issue and get it off of your computer. Here is the link to the article: www.softsailor.com Here is the link to malwarebytes which is free and you will need this to fix the problem: www.malwarebytes.org Step 1: Go here and download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for free. Save the file to your desktop. If Internet Security 2010 does not allow you to download anything, you should download the setup on another computer and use an USB stick or a CD/DVD to transfer the files needed. Remember to place the setup file on the desktop. Step 2: Click here to download the rkill.com file. download.bleepingcomputer.com Once the download is complete, run it. The rkill.com file will make sure the Internet Security 2010 will be closed for good so it does not interfere with the removal process. Step 3: Close all open applications and windows. You now should be on the desktop. Step 4: Run the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware setup from the desktop. Step 5: Go with the default settings during the install. CRUCIAL: Make sure you tell the software to automatically update itself (theres a box you need to check during the install to make that happen). In addition, make …
